1955
The hotel is being built as a golf hotel in Schönried.
1977
Hoteliers Heiner Lutz and Laurenz Schmid buy the Hotel Ermitage-Golf.
1979
Switzerland's first alpine indoor and outdoor saltwater pool is opened and expanded the following year to include the Badhaus with 37 rooms and suites.
1987
The main building with 39 rooms and junior suites as well as a sauna park with three different saunas is inaugurated.
1996
The new Vitalità spa area opens with treatment rooms for massages, body and facial treatments as well as a fitness room.
2005
The large outdoor pool and sunbathing lawn are inaugurated. The Solbadhaus is extended and 15 new rooms and suites are added.
2011
The hotel remains closed for eight months for the largest renovation and extension project in its history. The two new buildings Saanen and Résidence are created. On 21 December, the hotel reopens under the name ERMITAGE Wellness- & Spa-Hotel. We have been an official partner hotel of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy since 2011.
2014
Heiner Lutz sells the hotel to his brother Jürg and his two sons Julian and Ambros.
2019
The wellness oasis is extended to 3700 m². The modernised indoor and outdoor saltwater pool is now cleaned in an environmentally friendly way. The cosy fireplace lounge, the Thai rest and relaxation room, the smoothie bar and the modern fitness centre provide even more of a wellness experience.
2022
The Bärgblick panorama hall is refurnished and becomes the hotel's social meeting point. The sauna is extended to include the aroma steam bath, the infrared herbal sauna and the Swiss stone pine sanarium.
2024
New deckchairs in the park and larger beds in the single rooms increase the comfort for our guests. The fitness area is equipped with the latest generation of equipment.
