Our responsibility
Our outdoor and indoor saltwater pool is cleaned using a modern filter system and salt electrolysis. No chlorine is added here, but is formed directly from the salt water. This allows us to significantly reduce the use of chemicals.
Our premises and water are heated with district heating. We consciously reduce electricity consumption and optimize it during peak times.
Our kitchen team uses regional, national and seasonal products wherever possible. A balanced vegan and vegetarian menu is important to us. Our spring water comes from Schönried. We buy our bread from the Wehren family's Chnusper Becke bakery in Schönried. The various cheeses come from the Spitzhorn farm cheese dairy or from the local dairy. The dried meat comes from Buure Metzg Schönried from their own smokehouse.
We also give preference to local tradespeople for work in the hotel.
Our hotel is well connected to the public transport network. Schönried railway station is a five-minute walk away. The guest card includes many bus journeys in the Saanenland. We are in favour of extending the Gstaad Card to include additional offers.
With us, you can make good progress – on foot or by bike. As an official Hike & Bike hotel, we offer you a practical infrastructure for hikes and bike tours. Our nature guides are on hand to provide you with information on routes and maps.
An independent specialist body regularly reviews the salaries paid in our company. The latest analysis shows that women and men are paid the same for the same work.
We have a wheelchair-accessible room with step-free access and a shower with shower chair. The bed height is approx. 45 centimeters. Our restaurants, the breakfast area and the terrace are also accessible with a wheelchair.
Together with our partner hotel BEATUS, we are currently training nine apprentices and employ seven staff with permit status F and S. Many of our employees live within walking distance of the workplace.
We sponsor local associations and are the official festival hotel of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy. The Hotel ERMITAGE is the residence of the Gstaad Baroque Academy. Guests benefit from free access to rehearsals and concerts. With our own free concert series, we give musicians a stage and have established ourselves as a cultural hotel.
We are actively committed to making the tourism industry more sustainable and protecting the region and landscape.
Our guests can use the hotel app to control how often the room should be cleaned. Where possible, we use products that can be reused or are biodegradable. We strictly separate waste. We work digitally and largely paperless.
